National Pride
National pride is one of the most beautiful things that some people overlook. Just think, something as simple as standing up for the flag and singing the America's anthem can bring a whole nation together. Watching the American flag wave in the wind, while fireworks shoot off to celebrate our independence, as you hear Ray Charles hit the high note in America the Beautiful. That is national pride. To be able to bring a nation together through these simple things just because they simply love being an American is truly national pride. And to be able to witness this pride through experience is also truly amazing. I love this land, this country. and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
Fairytale
My favorite fairy tale growing up would have to be Peter Pan. Just the thought of never growing old when your so young is amazing. I feel in love with Peter Pan after I watched the movie for the first time. I thought it was so cool to be able to leave a world that was going through hell and discover this new "Neverland". To show my passion towards this fairy tale, I dressed up as Peter Pan seven times for Halloween. Yes, SEVEN times. There's even a picture of me at Disney World in Orlando, Florida crying in my costume because we went on the tea cups instead of the Neverland ride. My opinion on the second movie is that I strongly supported the idea of Peter Pan meeting Wendy's daughter Jane. Although the plot of the movie was everywhere I still thought it was a cinema hit. As for the Peter Pan film released in 2003, I thought it was amazing how Universal was able to bring this cartoon fairy tale to life. 8/10 stars at best.

Semester being over
I feel as if this semester went by extremely fast. But I do feel like it went pretty good. I studied a lot for my exams and took a lot of time to write my papers. The semester showed me how much college is different than high school. The professors don't care if you don't do the work, you have to do everything yourself. This semester prepared me for what I have in the future. I can't wait to see what college has to offer me. I can't wait to see what struggles it brings on and what I can do to overcome them.

Current event
A current event I can use in an impromptu speech is the Cleveland Indians post season run. At first when you saw the Indians this season you just saw a mediocre, just above .500 winning percentage team. But once the Indians saw their chance of making the October run, they took advantage. The Indians began to win against teams that shut them out in the beginning of the season. Their change of pace got them to the fall run for the World Series. Now the Indians are 6-0, sweeping Ortiz and the Red Sox, and becoming only one win away from making the World Series after defeating the Blue Jays last night. I hope to see the Indians and the Chicago Cubs make the World Series because it's just two teams no one thought would make it this far.

beacon blog
After reading the beacons opinion of the presidentia debate I laughed. I have no idea who I'm voting for yet, but I can tell who this writer is voting for. First the thing that drove me up the wall is that Hillary never once fact checked Donald Trump. The only person who fact checked Trump was Lester Holt, which he should be fired for! Leave it to this country to pick on of the most liberal moderators in the history of presidential elections. Also they said it was a "he-said, she-said" debate. I completely disagree. Donald Trump would actually state what he wants to do during his presidency, but Hillary tried to play a mind game by trying to get under his skin. While Donald Trump would answer the question, Hillary would just state some junk about how he's unsuitable for this position and how she has experience. I would say that Hillary has some history in politics, but I deleted all that history from my mind after she deleted all those e-mails.

News event
On September 28, 2016 president Barrack Obama held a town hall meeting. He spoke about how Colin Kappernick kneels during the national anthem. That fact that this is even news is ridiculous. There's a difference between standing up for what you believe in and just being a disruptence. This is America. You stand up for the national anthem, you remove your hat and thank whoever you want for being in the greatest country in the world. Some of my family didn't fight for this ignorant citizen to sit down for the anthem of our country. If you dont like the way the country is run, get out.

Presidential Election?
This presidential election is by far the most radical election in the history of the United States. We have a woman who's a far left liberal, and a man who says he's a far right conservative. Now although you probably want nothing to do with this election, this is the most important election in US history. It all depends on the lesser of two evils to save this country. These people are the two most corrupt people I've ever seen in a presidential race. When it comes to tax returns, their health, and most importantly the EMAILS. You can never tell if these two are coming clean. It's scary that Americans actually trust one of these two to run our country. I can't even get my mom to trust me about going out on a Friday night. But she trusts Donald Trump? It's just a nightmare that we won't wake up from. But hey, maybe I'm wrong.

Don't slide tackle from behind
A childhood memory that always comes to mine has to be when I got my first red card in soccer. My family was in Houston, Texas on vacation. We woke up at 5 am on a Saturday to fly back to Pennsylvania so we can make it to my game on time. We rushed through the airport got on a 4 hour flight to make it in time. We landed in Philadelphia at around 9 am and my game was at 10. The problem was the field was about an hour outside Philadelphia. My mom and dad went as fast as they could while I put my uniform and cleats on in the back. We got to the game and everyone took the field but it hadn't started yet. I ran right from the car to my position (center back) and started the game. 5 minutes go bye and a kid gets on a break away. I slide tackle him from behind. All I see is the referee show me a red card. My mom and dad were in disbelief. All the time we spent rushing for me to get thrown out of a game in the first five minutes. The funniest part about it is all they could do was laugh.

The gross, the ugly, and the beautiful
Gross, smelly, and ripped. Three words I use to describe my shoes. But I forget about the beautiful job they do. Cuts on my feet will never be seen. Frostbite from the cold will not be around. I can run faster, jump higher, and climb to success when they are on. My shoes are not just something I wear. They show off my personality and the person I am. I can say that they aren't the prettiest sight, but my shoes are beautiful to me.
